Steak and Eggs

For American Night in the Rasico household, my husband declared it Steak and Eggs Night.  So I picked up my usual flat iron steak because it is economical, lean, and tasty.  I marinated the steak in some tamari, garlic powder, and coarse kosher salt.  Then I pan seared it over high heat for about 5 minutes per side for medium rare.

To make the eggs, my husband said he heated the canola oil in a tiny pan for a couple of minutes for each side.  I've never been able to make eggs as pretty as his...we all may have to just experiment a little more!  But how much fun is it to cook with your husband to make a meal for your family??
Our darling Gianna had worcestershire sauce on her eggs with jalapenos on the side, while Sasha said she just wanted Dino Nuggets. Ugh...
